Designing and Ordering
The process of commissioning a new piece of furniture or custom cabinetry is fairly simple, yet it takes some time. It will involve an initial contact, a few conversations, a series of sketches, lots of feedback, a finished drawing, an agreement, a deposit, and finally a finished piece and a final payment. Most individuals enjoy being involved in the process, while others would prefer to leave it all up to the artist. As long as it is doable, we are happy to do it.

Design This can start with simply an idea or a need. Maybe you desire a piece that serves a special purpose or fits into a special space. It may be that you need to match what is already in the room, or to duplicate another piece of furniture. Or perhaps all you know is that you want a new bed, table or desk.

The next step is to contact the Studio and we will go over what you have in mind, record as much information as you have, and then engage in a little brainstorming. A few days later you will receive some sketches- rough drawings of ideas along with a price range for the designs. This process allows for a fluid exchange of ideas. Once we decide on a design, a finished, measured drawing will be sent to you with a fixed price for the piece. There is no cost to you for the initial design service.

Ordering and Paying Once the design and price are agreed upon, you will receive a statement/invoice for the work. An initial deposit is needed to schedule and begin the work. For individual pieces of furniture and cabinetry the deposit will be half of the total. For larger jobs it will be one third. Once the deposit is received the work will be scheduled and you will receive a receipt of payment and estimated date of completion. The balance will be due upon delivery.

Delivery Most furniture can be easily shipped anywhere in the country through various commercial carriers. Larger pieces which are more difficult to ship will be delivered and installed by the Studio if the destination is within 300 miles of Western Massachusetts. Delivery charges are extra, and will be discussed at the time of the initial design and pricing. Our low overhead and convenient location allow us to remain competitively priced even after any shipping charges.

Warranty All work is warranted against defects in workmanship for the life of the original owner. If you are unhappy with the workmanship or discover a problem caused by the assembly of the piece the Studio will repair or replace it as necessary. This does not include any defects which are the result of natural characteristics of the materials such as the changes of color or texture due to oxidation, ultraviolet light, or exposure to moisture or any other natural occurring changes due to the natural aging process nor does it include material changes due to inappropriate environmental exposure. Any misuse or neglect of the product is the fault of the owner and will void the warranty.
