Carving and Architectural Millwork
S&S Studio also offers carving and millwork services. The carving ranges from traditional architectural details (such as finials, carved rosettes, and newel posts) to sculptural work. Samples shown here demonstrate just some of the carving work that comes through the studio. Work this year has included such diverse styles as the pineapple finials to the left, the acanthus leaf corbels shown below, as well as a series of dog drawer pulls, displayed lower on this page.
Architectural Millwork can include carved details, as listed above, as well as much of the woodwork used to trim out a home. This ranges from moldings to mantels to balustrade. To the right is pictured an Arts and Crafts style mantel. The group of corbels pictured below, from a set of 16, is an example of carved architectural millwork.
Both the millwork and the carving is suited to both reproduction or original design. Whether you have a 19th century carved bracket which needs to be replaced, or you would just like a personal touch added to a new room or piece of furniture, give a call to discuss having it carved.
